The San Francisco 49ers need their pass-catchers on the field.
They need proven, legitimate players at the wide receiver position.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Grant Cohn took to social media to express his concerns about the situation:
“Jauan Jennings does two things at an elite level: block and make contested catches. Kendrick Bourne and Demarcus Robinson are solid, but do nothing at an elite level,” Cohn posted on X.

Jauan Jennings hasn’t practiced since the fourth day of training camp.
He is looking to get a big contract extension, and it doesn’t seem like he’s going to lower his demands.
This front office has already shown that it can be pushed and forced into making deals it didn’t necessarily want to make, so there’s no reason for Jennings to change his approach.
This team will be without Brandon Aiyuk for the first third of the season, and while Marquez Valdes-Scantling gives them a big-play threat, he’s never been a consistent contributor.
The fact of the matter is that the Niners’ hands seem to be tied right now.
Second-year pro Ricky Pearsall might be in for a breakout season, but even if that’s the case, they will still need someone else to help him carry the load without Aiyuk.
