The Los Angeles Lakers dropped another game they couldn’t lose.

They hosted an undermanned Miami Heat team missing Jimmy Butler, yet they failed to keep up the pace with Erik Spoelstra’s team.

The Heat outhustled them on both ends of the floor, and LeBron James had his worst game of the season with 12 points on 33% from the floor.

The Lakers are now below .500, and losing to an undermanned team at home by 14 points is worrisome.

Following the loss, Anthony Davis talked to Spectrum SportsNet about how the Lakers keep getting outworked, and how that has become a concerning trend going forward.

“We got outworked tonight… It’s a little bit of everything right now and if we keep on this trend, it’s not going to be good for us,” Davis said.

The Lakers need to be worried.

Injuries or not, it’s January and Darvin Ham hasn’t found a starting lineup that works yet.

Ham’s rotations have been questionable, to say the least, and he has failed to dig his team out of holes, struggling to make timely adjustments and allowing opposing teams to go on big runs.

LeBron’s numbers have been solid this season, but most of them have come in garbage time or with the game out of reach.

Anthony Davis has been their best player by a significant margin, but it seems like no one else can make a shot, especially from beyond the arc.

This Lakers roster is flawed and the coach seems overwhelmed and over his head at times.

We’ve almost reached the midway point of the season, and the Lakers don’t have a lot of valuable trade assets to try and shake things up, so they could be looking at another long and disappointing season.
