Chelsea have officially announced the signing of Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho on a long-term contract.
The Argentina international agreed personal terms with the London giants last month, but they have eventually secured his signature for £40 million.
Garnacho was in the stands before the Blues’ derby against Fulham earlier today, and the club have now formally made a transfer announcement.
He told the club’s official website: «It’s an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club. I can’t wait to get started.
«I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special – we’re the best team in the world! It’s amazing to be here.»
The Blues were initially keen on landing Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig alongside Garnacho, but they have opted to sign the latter alone.
Simons had been waiting for a move to Stamford Bridge, but he has now made the switch to London counterparts Tottenham Hotspur.’
