The 2024 NFL season is in the books, as the Philadelphia Eagles are the newest Super Bowl champions.
They weren’t the favorites coming into the year, but the Eagles proved that with a strong offensive and defensive line, paired with the right skill-position players, they had what it took to take down the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Eagles won the NFC East in 2024, but the Washington Commanders were right behind them, which could make for an interesting two-team race for the title in 2025.
Many believe that the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants have a few years before they’ll be able to compete again, but Dak Prescott doesn’t believe that about his Cowboys.
He was recently asked about how the Cowboys stack up against the Eagles, to which he responded, “very close,” per John Machota.

The Cowboys were 7-10 in 2024 compared to the Eagles’ 14-3, which might indicate that these teams are relatively far apart, record-wise.
Of course, Prescott missed much of the season due to injury, and as a whole, the Cowboys experienced a lot of injuries that led to a suboptimal season.
With a new head coach, and presumably, some new players they acquire via free agency and the draft, there’s no telling how much better the Cowboys will be in 2025.
They’ll have their work cut out for them with the Eagles and Commanders looking to be strong again, but anything can happen in this league, so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
