Erling Haaland has been sparked into anger after his former club cancelled the contracts of three players. Bryne FK have terminated the contracts of Jens Husebø, Robert Undheim and Axel Kryger.

Haaland was part of the Bryne setup from the age of five and made his senior debut for the club’s first team aged just 15. The Norway international produced his trademark rate of scoring for Bryne 2 as he racked up 18 goals in 14 appearances, but failed to find the net for the first team as he transitioned from a winger to a centre-forward before joining Molde.

The Manchester City striker still feels a connection with his hometown club and wants answers for their latest actions. Bryne have provided scant information after parting ways with Husebø, Undheim and Kryger.

«We have agreed to terminate the contracts with Axel Kryger, Jens Husebø and Robert Undheim. We thank them for their efforts in red and white and wish them continued success.» they said. Haaland has called for more details.

«Speak out Bryne FK. What the hell is going on?» Haaland wrote on Snapchat. The 25-year-old was then asked if he should be sleeping.

«Yes, I should, but there is chaos at my home club and it makes me angry, so now I can’t sleep,» he replied.

Norwegian outlet NRK has been in contact with some of the departed players but details on the situation remain sparse. Undheim said he did not want to comment on the matter.

«But never doubt that I love Bryne FK,» he said however.

Kryger also provided a vague statement but suggested there was negativity around the end of his stay. «We chose to go our separate ways,» he said.

«That’s how it had to be, and both the club and I agreed on that. I wish Bryne all the best and have had a great time there. It ended badly, but that’s how it is sometimes.»

Bryne sit 14th in the Eliteserien. They currently lie in the relegation play-off position after 20 games of the season. Bodo/Glimt, who reached the Europa League semi-final last term top the table and lead Viking on goal difference.

The news of contract terminations arrived on the same day that midfielder Rets Grodem returned after last featuring for the side in 2016. The midfielder joins on loan from Yverdon-Sport after also seeing spells with Molde and Valerenga.

«It feels incredibly good to come home,» he said. «It is a dream for me to play in the Eliteserien for Bryne. I am looking forward to playing in front of the Bryne crowd and helping the club stay in the Eliteserien.»
