Australia has already recorded its best ever result at a football World Cup, but exactly where the Matildas finish in the standings is yet to be decided.

On Saturday in Brisbane the Matildas will take on Sweden with the aim of finishing third, while the loser will officially be fourth for the tournament.

They narrowly missed a spot in Sunday’s ultimate decider, where Spain and England will do battle for the FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy.

WHEN AND WHERE ARE THE REMAINING WORLD CUP GAMES?

The playoff for third between Australia and Sweden will kick off at 6pm (AEST) on Saturday at Brisbane Stadium.

The tournament final will kick off at 8pm on Sunday at Stadium Australia in Sydney’s west.

WHO IS FAVOURITE TO WIN THE THIRD-PLACE PLAYOFF?

Bookmaker Sportsbet as of Thursday afternoon had the Matildas installed as the $2.62 favourite to win Saturday’s game.

Sweden is rated a $2.70 chance, while a draw is paying $3.20.

Australia lost 3-1 to England in its semi-final, while Sweden lost 2-1 to Spain to relegate both nations to Saturday’s playoff game.

WHO IS FAVOURITE TO WIN THE WORLD CUP FINAL?

Sportsbet has listed Spain as the $2.70 favourite to win the title on Sunday, while England is rated $2.87 outsiders.

A draw is paying $2.90.
