His team is about to compete against Giannis Antetokounmpo and Team Greece, and he believes he has a way to slow him down.
Nurkic thinks that Antetokounmpo has been subpar against certain defensive schemes, and he is going to work hard to throw those at him.
“At the end of the day, just stop him in transition and live with his shots. Generally, he’s sucked at those defenses the last few years he’s played in EuroBasket. But it’s not only him, so we will be ready,” Nurkic said.

That’s because hearing this from Nurkic might inspire Antetokounmpo to play even harder.
He may take note of what Nurkic thinks about him and will change his game to prove him wrong.
Antetokounmpo is one of the biggest names in the EuroBasket tournament, but he isn’t the only star shining brightly.
He is using this time to get in shape, enhance his skills, and then prepare for a long and consequential 2025-26.
Antetokounmpo is a fierce competitor with an unrelenting desire to win, no matter what it takes.
He will push himself as much as he needs to, for Greece and for the Milwaukee Bucks in a few months.
Nurkic may regret commenting on Antetokounmpo’s game and his problems with certain kinds of defense.
It may put an awfully big chip on Antetokounmpo’s shoulder.
Nurkic is going to try his best and use everything he’s got against Antetokounmpo, but it may not be enough, no matter what he thinks.
