Noche UFC adds lightweights Diego Ferreira, Alexander Hernandez

Noche UFC has added a lightweight bout between Diego Ferreira and Alexander Hernandez to its lineup, the organization announced.

The Sept. 13 Fight Night card set for Frost Bank Center in San Antonio has undergone many changes in the months leading up to it, including losing the likes of former women’s bantamweight titleholder Raquel Pennington and rising bantamweight star Raul Rosas Jr.

Ferreira vs. Hernandez is a matchup of veteran 155-pounders.

Hernandez is coming off an upset knockout win over Chase Hooper at UFC 319 in August. He has won three in a row since returning to the lightweight division following a brief stint down at featherweight.

The 32-year-old had gone through a rough 4-7 stretch from 2019 to the middle of last year before getting back on track.

Ferreira has only fought three times since 2021 and is looking to rebound from a January loss to Grant Dawson.

The 40-year-old Brazilian had been scheduled to face Bobby “King” Green at UFC 319 but that bout never came to fruition after Green sustained an injury and withdrew on the eve of the event. Ferreira was in the process of cutting weight when he was notified Green was out.

Noche UFC is scheduled to be headlined by an anticipated matchup between popular featherweight contenders Diego Lopes and Jean Silva.
