Report: Canada’s Cyle Larin joins Feyenoord on transfer

Yet another Canadian striker is set to join a new side in this hectic transfer window.

Forward Cyle Larin is heading to the Netherlands to sign with Feyenoord after the team agreed to a transfer from La Liga club Mallorca, soccer insider Fabrizio Romano reported Monday.

The transfer fee for Larin is unclear.

Larin, 30, has spent the last two seasons with Mallorca, picking up 11 goals and five assists in 76 appearances between all club competitions.

He initially joined the team ahead of the 2023-24 season on a €7.5 million (CAD$12 million) transfer fee from Club Brugge. He has also enjoyed spells at Real Valladolid, Besiktas, Zulte Waregem and Orlando City SC over his 10-year professional career.

Along with his club goals, the Brampton, Ont., native has 30 goals in 86 international caps for Team Canada.

He now joins a Feyenoord side that has gotten off to a perfect 3-0 start in the early going of the Eredivisie season.

Larin is the latest in an active transfer window for Canadians, as star striker Jonathan David joined Juventus earlier in the summer, Tani Oluwaseyi moved to Villareal, midfielder Ismael Kone was loaned to Sassuolo and centreback Derek Cornelius nears a move to Rangers.
