Mavericks fans are sure to be holding their breath as the blockbuster Doncic-Davis trade gets more and more conflicting.
After suffering an adductor strain in Saturday’s game against the Houston Rockets, Dallas centre Anthony Davis is expected to miss multiple weeks, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Sunday.
Despite a 26-point, 16-rebound and seven-assist debut on Saturday, Davis left the game in the third quarter with a lower-body injury. He was added to the team’s injury report on Sunday and ruled out for Monday’s game against the Sacramento Kings.
After exiting the win over the Houston Rockets in the third quarter, Davis downplayed the injury, saying the injury was «nothing serious.»
An abdominal strain had kept him out of his final two games with the Lakers before the trade, and in the first two, he could have played with the Mavs.
Davis has also been listed on the injury report this season with maladies to his feet, calf, ankle, shoulder, hip and elbow.
Following his dominating performance in his first game wearing a new uniform, Davis upped his season averages to 25.7 points, 12 rebounds and 3.4 assists over 43 games this year.
All eyes will be on the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, as Luka Doncic is expected to make his debut after the blockbuster swap that brought Davis to the Mavericks.
